As the opposition protests for restoration of democracy showed no sign of ebbing, India's envoy to Nepal on Sunday met King Gyanendra and discussed ways to resolve the present political crisis.

The current political situation in the Himalayan Kingdom, where the seven-party alliance's indefinite strike paralysed life on the 11th consecutive day, figured in talks of Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shanker Mukherjee held with King Gyanendra at Narayanhity Palace.
The two discussed issues relating to restoring peace and stability in the country and ways to move ahead to resolve the crisis, an Indian Embassy official said without elaborating.
India has joined the international community in voicing concern for restoration of democracy in Nepal.
