Indian athletes fizzle out

Indian athletes won a silver and a bronze on Monday to wind up an otherwise disappointing show in the track and field events of the third Asian Indoor Games in Hanoi.

Indian athletes won a silver and a bronze on Monday to wind up an otherwise disappointing show in the track and field events of the third Asian Indoor Games in Hanoi. The Indian women's 4X400m relay team won a silver while woman long jumper Prajusha Maliakkal Anthony bagged a bronze as the three-day track and field events came to a close today.

The women's 4X400m relay quartet of Mridula Korada, Jauna Murmu, Mary Thomas and Ashwini Chidananda won the silver with an effort of 3:41.23. Prajusha then won a bronze in women's long jump by clearing 6.27m in the final.
