India’s Greco-Roman wrestlers disappoint
Budapest: India’s Greco-Roman grapplers Ravinder Singh, Harpreet Singh and Hardeep failed to make an impact at the World Wrestling Championships as they crashed out in the penultimate day of the tournament. While Ravinder lost in the pre-quarterfinal of the 60kg category, Harpreet (84kg) and Hardeep (96kg) lost in their opening bouts.
Golden double for Chitra and Afzal
Kozhikode: Kerala athletes PU Chitra and Mohammed Afzal Saturday brought cheers to the Indian camp by clinching a golden double each in the Asian School Track and Field Championship, at Kuala Lumpur. Chitra won the 1500m to add to the 3000m gold, while Afzal’s 1500m added to his 800m.
