Indian films will enter world cinema in five years: SRK

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan said in five to ten years Indian films will make a dent in world cinema. SRK is in UK for the Temptation fest.

Britain's Bollywood craze promises to touch new heights when its hottest stars perform live in Birmingham on Saturday night and in London on Sunday. On the eve of Temptation 2004, a show that promises to be different from previous live Bollywood shows in the UK, superstar Shah Rukh Khan said it will take another five years to a decade for Indian films to enter world cinema.

Speaking to the media in London, he said: "We are still in a fledgling stage. It will take another five to ten years before we make a dent in world cinema."

The show which starts off from Birmingham is star-studded. Along with Shah Rukh are Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Rampal, Priety Zinta, Priyanka Chopra and Rani Mukherji. The show will be the first of its kind to stage a well-written script interspersed with Bollywood dance numbers.

When asked about the moral responsibility of actors towards its audience Saif Ali Khan said while stars have a certain amount of social and moral responsibility, they have to act according to the demands of the script.

Shah Rukh Khan, a smoker, said his advice to youngsters is "not to smoke" as "smoking kills" and "it has killed my parents".

Hussain said the show was a must for those who follow the genre.
