Indian hotel's account sealed in Kathmandu

The account has been sealed for failing to deposit a large amount of Value-Added Tax collected from customers.

Revenue authorities in Nepal have sealed the accounts of the five-star hotel 'Everest', owned by an Indian national, for failing to deposit a large amount of Value-Added Tax collected from customers, the state-run media reported on Wednesday.

The accounts of Everest, owned by Indian businessman PS Larry, were sealed along with another hotel 'Blue Star' by the Inland Revenue Department in Kathmandu, The Rising Nepal daily said.

Despite repeated warnings, five-star Everest and four-star Blue Star did not submit a large amount of Value-Added Tax collected from customers, it said.
