Indian national found dead in Kathmandu hotel

An Indian was found dead in a prime tourist area of Kathmandu, local media said Monday, quoting police.

The man, identified as GS Raghavendra Swami, was found hanging from his room in Hotel Countdown in the Satghumti area of Thamel, the hub of hotels and foreign tourists.

Swami, said to be in his 30s, had arrived from Mumbai, the area police said.

Hotel staff discovered his body hanging from the rafters of room 303 Saturday night, media reports said.

About two years ago, another Indian tourist had been found dead in a hotel in Pokhara city.
