Shalin Bhavsar, 31, of Shrewsbury near Boston was arrested on Monday after being charged in a federal indictment with possession of child pornography.
A search warrant affidavit sworn out in connection with the case alleges that Bhavsar purchased 30-day subscriptions to six websites that contained images of child pornography.
This led investigators to seek a warrant to search his residence and computers and electronic media inside, United States Attorney Carmen Ortiz said in a statement.
If convicted on these charges, Bhavsar faces up to 10 years' imprisonment to be followed by at least five years of supervised release and a 250,000 dollar fine, Special Agent in Charge of FBI's Boston Field Division Richard DesLauriers said.
