An Indian-origin worker in a nursing home who had stolen 50,000 pounds from three elderly residents in Salford, to fund his lavish lifestyle and cocaine habit now faces jail term.
Jaspal Sandhar, 25, spent the stolen cash on hiring flash cars, buying designer clothes and gambling at casinos. All his three victims lived at The Willows Nursing Home in Salford, which is owned by one of Sandhar's relatives.
The nursing home fees of the three were withdrawn from their bank accounts but their credit and debit cards were available to Sandhar in the home's office, reports from Salford said.
Salford magistrates' court was told he obtained 14,209 pounds from the account of Marjorie Thorpe (90), who has since died.
He also took 17,278 pounds from the account of Paula Nelson (67), and 18,724 pounds from Brian Roy (57).
Sandhar admitted three counts of fraud by false representation between October 2008 and April this year. He is scheduled to be sentenced later this month.

The court was told it was Sandhar's first offence. He was arrested after an investigation by Salford police's vulnerable adult unit.
District Judge Jonathon Finestein described the offences as 'very serious' and ordered Sandhar to reappear before magistrates on August 23 for committal.
