Indians are craziest for brands

According to a study conducted by market research company Ipsos and their OTX (Open Thinking Exchange) branch, social network users in Indonesia and India are most likely to consult brand pages on social networks.

According to a study conducted by market research company Ipsos and their OTX (Open Thinking Exchange) branch, social network users in Indonesia and India are most likely to consult brand pages on social networks.

The study was based on a survey of 18,500 web users in 24 countries and found that 81 percent of Indian web users "regularly consulted brand pages on social networks such as Facebook."

Indonesian web users were the second most likely to consult brand pages on social networks with 79 percent doing so, followed by 72 percent of web users in Mexico.

The countries in which web users were least likely to consult brand pages on social networks were Japan (16 percent), France (18 percent), Belgium (21 percent) and the United Kingdom (23 percent).

According to social media monitoring site Starcount.com, the most popular brands across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube are The Walt Disney Company, followed by YouTube and Facebook themselves with MTV (Global) in fourth place and Coca-Cola (Global) in fifth position.
