"We held a fruitful discussion in a friendly atmosphere," Bangladesh's Home Secretary Safar Raj Hossain told reporters in Dhaka at the end of the talks.

He, however, declined to elaborate on the discussions ahead of Sunday's official briefing.

Hossain leads a 16-member delegation in the discussion while his Indian counterpart VK Duggal heads the 18-member team at the talks which began on Thursday. The two sides took a retreat on Friday.

Bangladesh Home Ministry officials said on Friday that Dhaka laid emphasis on "peaceful border management" while the issues of cross-border terrorism were understood to have topped New Delhi's agenda.

"We certainly have some legitimate concerns and India also might have some in their list and I expect the Home Secretary-level talks will play a crucial role in resolving those," Bangladesh State Minister for Home Lutfuzzaman Babar told reporters after the Indian delegation made a courtesy call on him ahead of the talks.
