A JOINT Indo-Myanmar Army car rally reached here at 39 Gorkha Training Centre in Varanasi on Thursday. Later, the rally proceeded for its further destination.
The rally is being organised under the auspices of the Indian Army. Brigadier Natu and other Army officers received the Indo-Myanmar car rally here in the city. It will transverse several states before reaching Yangon in Myanmar on December 16 from where it will come back to its starting venue in New Delhi. A commemorative ceremony will be organised at the Taukkyan War Cemetery in Yangon where the rallyists will pay homage to their departed comrades with full military honours. The rally, which will cover a distance of more than 8000 km during its expedition, was flagged off by Defence Minister AK Antony at New Delhi on December 5.
