The child's family demanded the doctor's arrest, who works in a private hospital of the city.

Traffic was halted for an hour and hundreds of commuters faced inconvenience.

One-and-half-year-old Yuvraj Singh was admitted to Sagar Hospital on Basai Road on Friday and died within two hours.

Yuvraj's father Nasib Singh said, "My son fell from the bed and injured his head. I took him to the hospital and got his dressing done. Just before Yuvraj was to be discharged, the doctor administered him five injections and glucose."

But the minor died within two hours of his stay at the hospital.

Singh lodged a case against the doctor at the Sector-10 police station.

The child's body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination.
