Infosys to mull bonus issue; scrip zooms up

Infosys to consider a bonus issue of its shares on April 14, taking the value of its scrip to a 52-week high of Rs 3,400 on the BSE.

Information technology leader Infosys Technologies Ltd said on Friday that it will consider a bonus issue of its shares on April 14, taking the value of its scrip to a 52-week high of Rs 3,400 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

In the morning, the scrip recorded its biggest intra-day gain in the last ten years and was trading Rs 3,220 at 11:35 am.

The board of directors would meet on on April 14, 2006, to consider the the issue of bonus shares, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
