Here to review health services in the district, Dr Gupta addressed officers and doctors of the health department, and said doctors and auxiliary staff in maternity hospitals should be dedicated and sincere.

“People should keep an eye on unauthorised nursing homes engaged in abortions and illegal tests, and inform the department on its helpline. On Wednesday, a doctor and a nurse were sent to jail for running an unlicensed nursing home in Hansi. Such illegal medical practitioners are playing with the lives of people, and must be brought to book immediately,” he added.

He claimed that the health department had succeeded in enhancing vaccination among children 70% to 90%.

“Parents should extend their active co-operation to make it 100%. People should prefer delivering children in hospital as risk factors at home endanger the lives of mother and child,” he added.

NRHM finance director Sanjeev Goyal, deputy commissioner ML Kaushik and chief medical officer Dr Ashok Chaudhry were also present on the occasion.
