“An alert has been sounded and shared with all stakeholders the BSF, Jammu and Kashmir police and the Army. After two successive terrorist strikes in Jammu region, there is an urgent need to be more vigilant as there is possibility of more infiltration bids,” said a home ministry official, requesting anonymity.

The official added that there had been intelligence inputs on possible infiltration bids prior to the two attacks as well.

Regarding internal terror, Union home minister Rajnath Singh has asked the chief ministers of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh to pay personal attention to the unresolved terror cases in their states.

“I would urge upon you to personally look into the case and ensure that the investigating agency makes all out efforts to achieve a breakthrough,” Singh said in separate letters to O Panneerselvam (Tamil Nadu), Siddaramaiah (Karnataka) and Shivraj Singh Chouhan (MP).

Referring to the May 1, 2014, blast at the Chennai railway station where one person was killed, Singh told Pannerselvam that no suspect has been arrested in the case so far. He also told the Karnataka CM that the state police are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the IED blast in Bengaluru on December 28, 2014.
