South Mumbai's Colaba has recorded a rainfall of a little over 10 mm in the last 24 hours while 40.9 mm of rain was received in the north west suburb of Santacruz, the Regional Meteorological Office said.

A met department official said the showers are "pre-monsoon" rains and a detailed forecast will be available by afternoon.
However, suburban rail traffic was unaffected by the rains while a traffic department official said that vehicle movement continues to be normal.

Services on the Central Railway's main line were running late due to a 'rail roko' at Mulund and a technical fault in a train at Nahur during the peak hours this morning inconveniencing officegoers, Government Railway Police said.

Mumbaikars got a respite from the summer in the form of pre-monsoon showers yesterday with rainfall being reported from various pockets of the city.
