Aggrieved property buyers have decided to move the Punjab and Haryana High Court against AJS Builders Pvt Ltd after the town and country planning department cancelled the builder’s licence last week. AJS had launched its Gurgaon-based project, Hill View Apartment, at Sector 62 in 2007, which had nearly 500 takers.
As many as 147 buyers have formed a group to obtain lawful compensation from the builder and are also pursuing the issue with the director general, town and country planning (DG-TCP). Meanwhile, authorities said that they could comment only after investigation is complete.
The company has various projects coming up at Ganaur (Haryana), Indirapuram, Noida, Kaushambi (Uttar Pradesh) and Derrabassi (Punjab).
"The builder applied for licence after starting work at the project site. An inquiry is underway to look into all five projects of AJS. Meanwhile, we have taken steps to tighten the noose around the builder," said RK Singh, senior town planner, Gurgaon.
The buyers were already up in arms against the builder for slow progress at the construction site.

AJS has contravened provisions of Haryana Act No. 8 of 1975 and conditions of licence No. 80/2008 against developing group housing projects. The company has not even obtained building plan approval," said Sudhir Mahajan, a buyer.
Madhu Singh, managing director of AJS Builders Pvt Ltd, could not be reached despite several attempts, nor was her counsel Navin available.
