Elections are the biggest poem for the poet Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

"5 May, 2004 ek mahatvapurna faisla hamko karna hai (We have to take an important decision on May 5, 2004)," Vajpayee had jotted down and was asked by a curious journalist as to why he had left the "poem" unfinished.

Vajpayee took a moment or two to realise what the questioner was referring to before bursting out in laughter saying the reference was to polling in his constituency Lucknow on that day.
"But is there a bigger poem than elections?" he remarked.
