A NEW sugarcane juice vending machine – first of its kind in Madhya Pradesh and worth about Rs 2 lakh – has become the latest attraction at MP Tourism’s Lehar Fast Food restaurant on the Upper Lake here.
The machine – which began functioning on Thursday evening - gives cent per cent hygienic and chilled sugarcane juice in a few seconds, according to Lehar restaurant staff. The salient feature of the machine is that the sugarcane sticks are used just once and no ice is needed to chill the juice.
“The machine is fitted with a chiller and the temperature of the juice can be adjusted as per requirement without having to use ice,’’ a staff member said. Moreover, the used sugarcane falls directly into a covered garbage bin preventing chances of contamination.
As the used ingredients are not exposed, the probability of flies infesting the area is also reduced to a great extent thus maintaining hygiene, the staff member pointed out.
Manufactured by the Coolex Company, the machine has been brought from Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh. A 300-ml glass of chilled and pure sugarcane juice is available for Rs 10.
