It's one's duty to pay taxes: Junior B

The Bollywood star denied Bachchans were being harassed by I-T officials.

In the wake of the recent controversy over Income Tax notices sent to his family, Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan on Thursday denied they were being harassed by the authorities and said it is "one's duty" to pay taxes.

"Who says my family is being harassed by the I-T department? As a citizen of this country, I believe that it's one's duty to pay taxes and I will do it gladly," Bachchan junior said.

Responding to a question about the recent suggestion by Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss that actors should not promote soft drinks and junk food, Bachchan said he has refrained from endorsing aerated drinks.

"I will not promote them as I have stopped consuming them," he said.

Bachchan, who was in the national capital to promote an international watch brand, said he would like to lend his name only to products that he uses.

Parrying a query about his reported plans to marry Aishwarya Rai, Bachchan said, "No women should be talked about in this manner."
