Usually, teams have got about three days between matches. “One of the days is spent travelling and two days are not enough to recover, especially for the fast bowlers,” Jaffer said.

He added that many times he has asked his fast bowlers not to bowl in the nets ahead of the matches and instead use the time to rest and recuperate.

“I would ideally want four days between matches, so that fast bowlers can get more time to rest.”

Dahiya said, “I also feel that there should be four days between matches. The present schedule is tough on fast bowlers.”

Agreeing with Jaffer and Dahiya, Mumbai coach Pravin Amre said, “This issue will be discussed during the meeting of captains and coaches.”
