J-K floods: Radio Kashmir starts operation

The Radio Kashmir has started running services from a make shift camp. It was started on Thursday on evening but got snapped after short while. It started again on Friday after being off the air since Saturday. However, the announcer on the first of the programmes announced that it’s not sure for how long it will last.

The station was submerged and engineers and programme executives had to leave in hurry. The main building of the Radio Kashmir is still submerged about 10-feet.

The announcer was giving programme in a heavy voice. When the flood started, radio started making announcements. It acted like helpline when people started making calls.
