A minister's son in Kashmir beat up a man inside a police station and walked away with three of his workers who had been picked up for assaulting the man's wife, reports said.
News channels reported that the woman, a resident of Baba Nagri area of Kangan, about 40km from Srinagar, had complained to the police that the three accused had beaten her. The trio works at a stone crusher believed to be owned by Mehar Ali, son of Jammu and Kashmir forest minister Mian Altaf. One of them is a special police officer.
When the accused were brought to Kangan Police Station, Ali stormed into the police station and thrashed the woman's husband, Mohammad Sadiq, in front of the police officials present at the station. After beating the complainant, Ali walked away with the three men.
Sadiq has been shifted to tertiary care hospital, SKIMS in Srinagar, for specialised treatment, reports said.
