Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday expressed confidence that the NDA coalition led by Arjun Munda would be able to prove its majority in the Assembly on Thursday braving all the UPA hurdles including the threat to disrupt the proceedings using violent methods and imposition of President's rule.

Naidum, who is handling the Jharkhand crisis on behalf of the party leadership, alleged that the Congress and the UPA were out to create instability by alluring the MLAs to their side with all kinds of promises. "We have information that if the other side is unable to succeed in their mission, they are planning to disturb the House proceedings and will not hesitate to use violence going by their past", he alleged.

The Government, whose majority is in question following the resignation of three ministers from the state Cabinet, has been asked by State Governor Syed Sibte Razi to demonstrate its strength by September 15.

Asked how the BJP was confident of proving its majority, Naidu said the MLAs on the other side were 'disunited', and there was a lot of infighting in the UPA on the leadership issue.

Informed sources feel that much would depend upon Namdhari's decision and also hope to elicit 'direct or indirect support' from the members from the otherside. Naidu is also proceeding to Ranchi to oversee the developments when the crucial vote take place.
