Jagan consoles families, makes routine speeches during yatra

Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy consoled the bereaved families and made routine speeches on the second day of his Odarpu Yatra on the second day in Prakasam district on Saturday.

Beginning from Kambham, he went about the yatra consoling a few bereaved families and making routine speeches.

At Kakarla village, he unveiled the statue of his late father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and paid floral tributes. Another statue was unveiled at Veerabhadrapuram and one more at Mohiddinpuram.

"Thousands of people have benefited from the welfare programmes launched by my father. He has now become immortal by being their heart beat," Jagan said at Kakarla.

State Mines Minister and YSR's close relative Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, Darsi MLA Sivaprasada Reddy and MLC Jupudi Prabhakar accompanied Jagan during the yatra while all other Congress MLAs from the district stayed away. People were present in large numbers at every village to greet Jagan and there as a scramble for a handshake or an autograph.

The MP, who embarked on the third leg of his controversial tour in Prakasam district yesterday, visited Pedagollapalli, Nandanavanam, Lingamguntla. The second day's yatra is expected to be wound up at Kanigiri late tonight.
