While one group comprises a band of baddies including Narendra Pahari and Vishal Singh, another was led by none other but high-profile undertrial Amarmani Tripathi.

The group of inmates enjoying patronage of Amarmani already had planned to create a ruckus in the jail well before Wednesday. However, death of undertrial Bal Mukund Singh Bhaduaria provided a befitting reason for the group to go on the rampage. Tripathi’s rival group too settled their scores assaulting the deputy jailor and two wardens who are close to a don-turned MLA lodged in the Ghazipur Jail presently.

None of the jail officials muster courage to defy Amarmani’s diktats in the jail following clear directives from the corridors of power since he entered the jail. It was around a week back only when a top influential cabinet rank minister had visited Amarmani in jail giving a mute signal to the jail authorities to comply with all orders issued by the VVIP undertrial. No norms were applied to those visitors referring name of Amarmani at the jail.

Slain don Ajit Singh’s sharp shooter Narendra Pahari, an expelled jail warden Vishal Singh who too is lodged here had raised their voice against disparity among the inmates. Vishal, whose wife is a deputy jailor posted in Varanasi, had even engaged in verbal duel with jail officials asking them to allow a similar liberty to him and his co-inmates too.

Another gangster Aditya Mishra lodged in the circle barrack though had differences with Narendra Pahari he too joined them. Agitated over the matter, the group of dissidents even beat up Amarmani’s associates in circle barrack a few days back.

Amarmani felt humiliated as he came to know about the attack on his men. Sources said he held a meeting of his group of inmates and asked them to create a ruckus in the jail on pretext of any issue. He had assured them that the jail authorities would initiate action against the rival group and hence they would be transferred to other jail.

However, before Amarmani’s group could cause disturbance Bhadauria died and the rival group went on the rampage.
