Jaipur blast accused sent to custody

A Jaipur blast accused, brought in Ahmedabad from Rajasthan for questioning in connection with the July 26 blasts in the city, was today sent to police custody till October 23.

A Jaipur blast accused, brought in Ahmedabad from Rajasthan for questioning in connection with the July 26 blasts in the city, was on Sunday sent to police custody till October 23.

Accused Imran Ahmed alias Raja was produced before magistrate G M Patel at his residence after his one-day custody ended on Sunday.

Patel sent Imran to police custody till October 23 after the crime branch official submitted that his remand was required to probe his involvement in the bast that took place at city civil hospital in Shahibaugh area.

According to the remand application, Imran, who hails from Kota in Rajasthan, was present in the terror camp in Halol near Vadodara along with two other Jaipur blast accused Atik-ur-Rehman and Mehndi Hassan, who are also in custody of the city crime branch.

The application further stated that remand of Imran was neccessary to find out about others who had attended the camp to get details of the phone call made by him and to find about his involvement in hatching the serial blasts conspiracy along with other member of banned outfit SIMI.
