Japan to honour FICCI Secretary General

Mitra, serving at the post for over 10 years, 'has made tremendous contributions to promote relations between Japan and India.

FICCI Secretary General Amit Mitra would be given the top honour by Japan for his contributions to promoting India-Japan relations.

The Order of the Rising Sun, the Gold Rays with the neck ribbon will be conferred on Mitra by Emperor of Japan Akihito.

Mitra, serving at the post for over 10 years, "has made tremendous contributions to promote economic ties and friendly relations between Japan and India," a Japanese Government announcement said.
