Jawan commits suicide in J&K's Rajouri district

A jawan of the Rashtriya Rifles committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

Posted at the Dera-ki-Gali bunker in Thanamandi belt of Rajouri, a jawan of the 43 Rashtriya Rifles Koushal Patel shot himself with his service rifle on Tuesday night, they said.

After hearing the gun shots, his colleagues rushed to the area and saw Patel lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the military hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, they said.

Police has registered a case and is probing the matter.
