The AIADMK appears to have found a common cause with the Communist Party of India (M) as the two parties have criticized the secessionist tone the stir in favour of Lankan Tamils has assumed.

Saying there could be no compromise with banned terrorist organizations like the LTTE which “has links with anti-national forces, AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa has slammed both the DMK and the Congress-led UPA governments for alleged complacency against “secessionist voices”.
CPI (M) secretary N. Varadarajan said in a statement, “Some leaders here talk of creation of a separate Tamil state of Eelam in Sri Lanka as being the only solution to the ethnic crisis; it will only further complicate the issues.”
