She also slammed her arch rival and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, when she said that he was just "watching" the killing of the fishermen and "not acting".
"Such attacks have become routine and this is mainly due to the fact that Indian Government had failed to issue a stern warning to Sri Lanka," she said in a statement here.
She said Centre should tell Colombo that it would have to "face serious consequences" if such "inhuman attacks" continued against the local fishermen.
Charging Karunanidhi with "enacting the drama" of writing letters and sending telegrams to the Centre, she said he did little to stop the attacks.
