Ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament, Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa stepped up attack on UPA with her renewed demand for explanation from the Prime Minister and the Union government on 2G spectrum scam.

Voicing the demand of AIADMK, which has already announced it will oppose the centre’s proposed legislation on communal and targeted violence bill, chief minister Jayalalithaa on Saturday asked the prime minister to come out with explanations on the allegations leveled by the prime 2G scam accused former telecom minister A Raja.

Raja has alleged that he was not alone in the spectrum allocations and that former finance minister and present Union home minister P Chidambaram was with him when fixing price of spectrum allocations and the prime minister was fully briefed on every aspect of 2G spectrum allocation process. Chidambaram has come out rubbishing the allegations of Raja, but there has been no word from the Prime Minister yet on the allegations.

The AIADMK executive that met in Chennai on Saturday also sought the roll back of hike in the prices of petrol and diesel.
