State unit JDU president B Somashekhar told reporters here "we are happy that we are back into the NDA fold after being out of it. The number of seats maybe less. But while forging such alliance there has to be give and take".

He said he would discuss with BJP leaders today to seek allotment of more seats and added both parties would jointly campaign during the coming elections to ensure installation of a NDA type of government in the state.

After a lot of dithering and reluctance, the BJP has given 25 assembly and four Lok Sabha seats to JDU under the seat sharing pact.

Somashekhar concurred with the resentment expressed by the party senior leader H N Nanjegowda, who had set March 27 ultimatum to BJP to allot 50 assembly and nine Lok Sabha seats, failing which the party would contest as many seats it wanted.

Somashekhar said the leaders who hopped to other political parties were responsible for the present status of the party and alleged "some parties killed JDU", but refused to name them.

He said the party would finalise its candidates in a day or two and ruled out his contesting from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency.

He said he will contest from Malavalli reserved assembly cosntituency, which he represented in the dissolved assembly.
