The Delhi High Court on Friday allowed entrepreneur Bina Ramani, a key witness in a case relating to the 1999 murder of model Jessica Lall, to go abroad.
A division bench comprising Justice Manmohan Sarin and Justice Manju Goel directed Bina Ramani to submit a draft for Rs 500,000 to the High Court registry as a personal bond for her promise to return to the country by April 3.
The bench also directed Ramani's husband George Mailhot and her daughter Malini Ramani, a fashion designer, to submit their passports to Delhi Police as a security to ensure the return of Bina Ramani.
Jessica Lall was shot dead in April 1999 in Tamarind Court, a posh south Delhi restaurant run by Bina Ramani.
Delhi Police had issued lookout notices on March 14 against all the eyewitnesses in the case - Bina, her husband George Mailhot and Malini.
