Unidentified men looted Rs 33 lakh at gun point from a bank in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district on Friday, police said.

According to the police, around half a dozen robbers entered UCO Bank near Malvia Road in Hazaribagh town at 11.30 am on Friday.

The criminals held the bank officials hostage and looted the money from the cash counter and the currency chest of the bank. Interestingly, the bank is located near a police station.
In the past 5 years, more than 60 bank robberies have taken place in different parts of the state.
In May last year, Maoist rebels hijacked an ICICI delivery van from Ranchi and looted Rs 5 crore (Rs 50 million) in cash and two kg of gold.
