Forty pieces of detonators and six Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were recovered in an anti-Maoist drive in the foothills of Parasnath jungle in Giridih district, police said on Monday.

Superintendent of police, Akhilesh B Verior, said the recovery was made during the operation on Sunday when the security personnel and the Maoists exchanged fire.

Maoists triggered a blast in Parasnath jungles on Monday but it did not harm anyone, the SP said.
Additional director general of police (Operation) SN Pradhan said the operation will continue.
Inspector general of police (CRPF) Sanjay Anand Latkar and deputy inspector general of police (Hazaribagh) Upendra Kumar were among the senior officials overseeing the operation.
