Jogi out of danger: Doc

Jogi, who underwent surgery on Sunday for his spine injury, was "out of danger and is showing signs of improvement," Dr CE Deopujari said on Tuesday.

Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi who underwent surgery on Sunday for his spine injury following a car accident, was "out of danger and is showing signs of improvement," Dr CE Deopujari, a neurosurgeon attending on him, said on Tuesday.

Jogi, who was admitted to Bombay Hospital, is improving and is fully conscious, Dr Deopujari said adding he is talking and is "willing to get out of bed".

The doctors will be assisting Jogi "in making him get out of the bed for sometime today," he said adding the patient is very "cheerful".

Dr Deopujari said they had removed the life support system completely as "all his health parameters are fine".

"We hope to mobilise him as soon as we can," he said.

The movement of his hands have improved and the sensation on his legs also showed good improvement.

Jogi had suffered fractures and head injuries on Sunday when the car carrying him on campaigning dashed against a tree at Gariabandh, about 130 kms from Raipur.
