Mishra appreciated the efforts of the BHU administration initiated towards better medical services. Mishra, who has given Rs 50 lakh from the MP Local Area Development fund, assured all possible financial assistance for social service.

Mishra also chose the occasion to criticise the Congress and the Samajwadi Party for what he alleged the poor state of development of Uttar Pradesh and the country. “Instead of focusing on development, Congress and SP were trying to divide the society on lines of caste,” he alleged.

Vice-Chancellor of BHU, Prof Panjab Singh said efforts were on to get the SS Hospital of BHU recognised as the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to ensure better medical assistance to the poor coming from neighbouring states like Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh.

Medical Superintendent of SS Hospital, Prof Churamani Gopal delivered the welcome address whereas Deputy Registrar, Dr MR Pathak conducted the programme.
