"We are ready for a public debate on this issue. Let the Government bring out an Action Taken Report on their performance. We have given our report," state BJP President Ananth Kumar told reporters after ending the campaign for the first phase of polls in the state.

Charging that the Congress manifesto had made "false promises" to the people, he said, the ruling party which made tall claims in it's manifesto has not come out with a roadmap on how it will implement the promises.

"You should ask the Chief Minister and Janardhana Poojary about this?", Kumar said.

He said the promise of generating 8,000 MW of power in the state was a pipedream as it required huge investments to the tune of Rs 32,000 crore.

He said the Congress in it's manifesto had hijacked the Vajpayee Government's scheme of providing rice at Rs 3 per kg and extending the mid-day meal scheme to students of upto 10th standard.
