Karnataka swine flu toll mounts to 61

Four more persons, including a one-year-old boy, have succumbed to swine flu, raising the toll from the pandemic in Karnataka to 61, health officials said on Saturday.

Four more persons, including a one-year-old boy, have succumbed to swine flu, raising the toll from the pandemic in Karnataka to 61, health officials said on Saturday.

While a 62-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man died in Bangalore on September 8 and September 10, the child and a 28-year-old man succumbed to the virus in Hubli and Gadag on September one and 9 respectively, they said.

Test reports confirming their H1N1 status were received on Saturday.

At least 29 people -- 24 here, four in Bijapur and one in Gulbarga -- tested positive for the virus on Saturday, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 737.
