The proceedings will be conducted at the Arthur Road Central Jail from April 6.

Special judge M.L. Tahilyani called Waghmare to his side and told Kasab: “She (Waghmare) is your advocate and would defend you in the trial. Aap apne lawyer ko brief kar sakte hain jab aap April 6 ko special court mein hazir honge (you can brief your lawyer when you will be produced on April 6 at the special court).”

The court also informed Kasab that his lawyer had a good command over Marathi and English. As the chargesheet were filed in these two languages, there was no need for Urdu translation of the same.

Kasab had earlier demanded the chargesheet in Urdu.

Later, Waghmare said she was informed about the appointment on Monday morning. She affirmed that she was ready to accept the brief.
