Mukherjee referred to her visit to meet Kasab in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail, as he said Pakistan should not delay its probe into the 26/11 attacks on the pretext of seeking more specific information from India.

"The fact of the matter is a large number of people have been killed. One terrorist has been arrested. He has made certain confessions. His mother is coming to Mumbai to meet him," Mukherjee told reporters.

"These are the realities. These are the facts," he said.

"The matter should not be delayed on this or that issue, or on this or that clarification. We are prepared to give them any information that they want, provided we have the information," he said.

Kasab's trial in the Mumbai terror attacks is set to begin Wednesday.
