The federation's Kathua district unit had been holding silent protest rallies for one hour daily demanding nothing less than CRPF security in the hospital.

The matter was also brought to the notice of director, health services, Jammu, BS Pathania who took up the matter with the Jammu divisional commissioner, following which the token strike was suspended with effect from September 16, but so far nothing has been done by the divisional or district administration to settle the issue.

With the hospital employees threatening to go on an indefinite strike from September 23, the JKMEF has again requested the administration to provide CRPF personnel and not local police for security before September 22, failing which the responsibility will be entirely on the government.

Among those who attended the meeting included secretary general Vinod Kumar.
