If you think actress Katrina Kaif’s poise and demeanour in the promos of Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti look familiar, you are right. The actress says she watched election campaign videos of Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s daughter Priyanka Vadra to "get the right body language" in the upcoming political thriller."Priyanka is a young, strong, independent and modern leader with the right blend of values. My character is not based on her. I just watched her campaign videos to observe her body language and how she campaigns and interacts with the crowds," says Katrina.

The 25-year-old actress reiterates that her character is not based on Sonia Gandhi, and that her look is not modelled on any politician. “Prakashji himself chose the sarees I wore as a politician. Every body knows I spent my early years in England and my mother is English and even Sonia Gandhi has a foreign connection. So the comparison was logical,” she says.

Katrina reveals that she initially planned to refuse the film. “When I first heard the script, I made up my mind to refuse. I felt this was not my kind of space.” The political aspect of her character comes in much later in the film, she explains. “My character, Indu, refuses to accept that the person she loves does not reciprocate her feelings. She has no self respect in love. In real life, all of us experience rejections, sometimes in hurtful ways. I was as honest to myself as I could while playing Indu,” she adds.
