Kejriwal appeared before the court of District and Session Judge Riyasat Hussain and filed the application through his counsel Adarsh Sharma.

The judge fixed July 28 as the next date for hearing of Kejriwal's plea against the summons to him.

The court had sent a notice to Kejriwal on a complaint by a Bulandshehar resident, Jitendra Sindhu, seeking his prosecution for his alleged offensive remarks against MPs.

Kejriwal had triggered a political storm by saying in a rally at Ghaziabad early this year that Parliament was filled with murderers, rapists and dacoits.
