This step has been taken to ensure 100 per cent billing of the power supplied by the company to the consumers. Taking initiative in this direction, the KESCo management has begun the process of conducting MRI reading of multi-story buildings, commercial complexes, nursing homes and schools including other such buildings consuming power in bulk.

Apart from this, as per the directives of UPERC and Electricity Act 2003, KESCo has also initiated the process of installing meters at the residence of its employees. This step has been taken to ensure accounting of the power consumed by its employees. In this drive, electronic meters are being installed at the houses of both the retired and present employees of KESCo. Till date the KESCo management has successfully installed meters at the residence of all its officers while 80 per cent employees have been covered under this drive.

Raids are also going on in full swing to check pilferage of power in the city. Efforts are on to bring down line-loss to the minimum level in all the divisions of KESCo.

KESCo General Manager MP Tripathi said, “All efforts are being made to bring down line-loss so that there is no power crisis in summer.” Loss of energy during distribution of power is also a major reason for the power crisis in the summer season. Millions of units are being lost each month due to technical flaw in the power distribution system of KESCo.
