Hallet Hospital owes a staggering Rs 1.51 crore, Medical College Rs 13 lakh and CSA University Rs 45.2 lakh dues to the power company.

However, on the assurance of Superintendent in Chief (SIC) of Hallet Hospital Dr RC Jain, the power supply was restored in the evening.

Hundreds of patients had a tough time for more than 10 hours when the power supply of the hospital was snapped at around 11 am. It was when Dr Jain took up the matter with the KESCo authorities and the supply was restored.

Dr Jain said that a letter would be written to the State Government requesting it to make provisions in the hospital budget for payment of electricity dues. “When the amount is received from the State Government, pending electricity bill will be cleared,” stated Dr Jain.

CSA varsity authorities have also assured KESCo that all pending dues would be cleared within due course of time. Similar assurance of clearing of dues was given to the KESCo management by the authorities of the Medical College.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Chief General Manager (CGM) of KESCo PC Chaudhary said: “Power supply of Hallet Hospital, Medical College and CSA University was snapped against pending electricity dues. However, after the assurance from all the three defaulters, supply was restored.”

“Despite pending dues of Rs 1.51 crore, power supply of Hallet Hospital was restored on humanitarian grounds,” asserted Chaudhary.

However, it is not the first time that power supply of the Hospital was snapped.

Barely 10 days ago KESCo snapped power supply of the hospital on charges of pending electricity dues. At that time also power supply of the hospital was restored on the assurance of payment by the hospital management.
