Talking to newspersons at the circuit house, Khurana stated that power supply of the city had considerably improved in the last fortnight.

“But due to local faults some areas face power cuts. In order to ensure timely repair of faults, KESCo staff must be efficient,” added Khurana.

He added, “I have instructed the KESCo MD to hire workers on contract basis if there was any shortage.”

“In the coming months of December and January power supply of the State will further improve. A 1000 mw of power project is in the pipeline and will become operational soon,” said Khurana. He expressed his satisfaction on water supply of the city. He added that the over-all water supply of the city was satisfactory and Jal Sansthan would take care if any deficiency was found.

Commenting on city roads, Khurana pointed out that overall the condition of city roads had improved. About his inspection at Rani Ghat, the official pointed out that the entire thing was perfectly stage managed.

Later a meeting was also convened by the principal secretary with traders of the city at a prominent hotel at Gumti.

Power supply was the main issue that was taken up by the traders with the official. A delegation of Chaubeypur chapter of the Indian Industries Association (IIA) handed over a memorandum to Khurana requesting him to provide an independent feeder in the area.

Members of the delegation expressed their concern over deplorable power supply in Chaubeypur Rural Area which was declared as ‘ Zero Industrial Area’ by the State government in 1982 for encouraging industrialists to set up their plants in the area.
