IT professional Anushree Kundra, who is the main accused in the Juhi Prasad murder case, resurfaced after one whole month of hiding on Tuesday.
A weeping Kundra, accompanied by her father and uncle, surrendered before a local court. She has been remanded in police custody for seven days.
Kundra, 30, had allegedly set on fire her ex-boyfriend Nimesh Sinha, 27, and his fiancée Juhi Prasad, 26, while they were asleep at Sinha's apartment in the posh Wanoworie locality of Pune on October 13. Kundra had been on the run ever since.
Kundra is a divorcee and has a son, who lives with her ex-husband. Both Kundra and Sinha were IT professionals and had been living together in Gurgaon since 2007. However, in 2010 when Sinha's parents got to know about their relationship they objected. Soon after, Sinha shifted to Pune and eventually got engaged to Delhi-based lawyer Prasad. Kundra also moved to Pune.
According to the police, on October 13, Prasad had flown down to Pune at her fiance's insistence to spend the weekend together. But in the evening, Kundra, who had apparently just learnt about their engagement, stormed Sinha's appartment and had a argument with the couple. She left the house, only to return soon after with a plastic can, according to neighbours and security personnel. Prasad suffered 90% burns and died in a hospital. Sinha suffered 15% burns and was discharged.

{{/usCountry}}Last Friday, Kundra had obtained a four-day anticipatory bail from the Delhi high court, which directed her to appear before the Pune court.
In her bail plea, Kundra claimed she had been implicated in the case and it was Sinha who had masterminded the crime.
Prasad's father has also alleged Sinha's involvement in his daughter's murder.
