KGMU officials hassled by ?undue requests?

DESPITE AN open declaration about the rigidity of the strict guidelines for the counselling process, candidates pestered teachers for ‘undue favours’ on Saturday at the King George’s Medical College (KGMU)!

One of the candidates wanted a refund though he had already been allotted a seta of his choice. Ironically, he candidate brought along with himself, a letter from a State Minister. His request was referred by V-C Prof SK Agarwal to Registrar & KGMU counseling-centre in-charge Col Fasih Ahmed. The latter had to struggle for almost thirty minutes to tell the student that all changes in procedure could only be made had to be cleared by the Director General (Medical Education) office and not at the counselling centre. Another request came from the office of a senior bureaucrat. A candidate, ranked around 70,000, enlisted for counselling on July 16, had sent a messenger to know the ‘seat position’ a day in advance!
